Our Aspirations

With its research, the fög aims to contribute to the public discourse, illuminate social problems and build towards to their solution.

We regard the media as the key to society. They color the world with their selection, interpretation and presentation of topics and influence our perception. Advancing digitalization is fundamentally changing the way information is processed and used, and new forms of logic are emerging that have an influence on society. Of particular interest is the question of the extent to which digitalization is changing public communication and thus influencing the quality of social coexistence and democracy. The fög investigates these connections on a long-term basis and puts the scientific findings at the service of the general public.
