Presentation of the Yearbook Quality of the Media 2024

Public media are often suspected of suppressing private media in the online sector. The initiative “200 francs are enough“, which calls for a drastic reduction in SRG fees, gives new impetus to this accusation. 


What is the situation really like? Does SRG’s freely available online content affect the use of private media? Are SRG users less willing to pay for private media? We take a look at these questions in the Yearbook Quality of the Media 2024. 


The Yearbook also offers analyses of the use of AI in journalism and the perception of deepfakes in Switzerland, and provides current data on the development of the quality, use and financing of Swiss media.

The presentation of the main findings of the Yearbook Quality of the Media 2024, followed by a panel discussion on the topic “Competition or coexistence? The relationship of the SRG and private media”, will take place on:
